Duende is Perth’s first and original Spanish tapas bar.
Since opening in 2003 we have continued to provide a unique culinary experience dedicated to the Spanish tapas culture with this experienced in warm, rustic surrounds.
We are positioned on the fringe of vibrant Leederville in a location that could easily leave one wondering if they were in Barcelona, Seville or San Sebastian. Duende essentially means ‘having soul’, a feeling that you’ll experience with each and every visit.
Open for lunch and dinner Wednesday to Sunday, we’re the perfect location for that casual catch-up, the important business meeting or a group gathering of family or friends to celebrate… well, anything. It’s always best to book to ensure you get a spot.

Our open kitchen is a focal point in the restaurant delivering a sumptuous array of authentic Spanish tapas dishes.
Menu choices are aplenty and all available across lunch & dinner services from Wednesday through till Sunday. If you can’t decide we make it easy for you with our two Chef’s Selection set menu options, 4 courses for $45 per person or why not go for the 5 courses option for $60 per person. A vegetarian version of both menus is also available and we are generally able to manage any dietary needs or allergies.
Both Chef’s Selection menus also have a Spanish wine pairing option available at $20 per person for the 4 course and $30 for the 5 course.
If it’s a lighter feed you’re chasing our Fiesta Selection menu is available from midday to 5pm offering 3 tapas dishes for just $27*
For larger group bookings of over 8 at our peak times, being our Friday & Saturday dinner services, our set menus are our standard offer

Our wine list at Duende is a combination of quality imported wines, primarily with an Iberian focus, and a selection of hand-picked West Australian and eastern states drops. We actively seek unique wines to complement all aspects of our tapas menu.
Sangria is made fresh daily with the freshest of locally sourced fruits and if you’re in between midday and 5pm you’ll pay just $6 a glass. Our range of beers includes some great Spanish favourites along with a selection of locally brewed specialty styles.
If it’s cocktails that take your fancy our inspired and talented team behind the bar are constantly developing new and exciting concoctions. Gin lovers will be delighted with our list and the sherry offer covers the full gamut from dry white to sweet dark and everything in between.
For coffee lovers, our choice is based on a locally roasted, small batch blend served by our talented baristas.

Exciting news: We teamed up with Anja Lewis of Canny Grapes who will be hosting Spanish Wine Tasting Classes at Duende. Each class will have a different theme so you can come along and enjoy them all. Join Anja on her fun and educational wine tasting journey through Spain. Travel to Spain’s many wine regions, discover grape varieties you may never heard off, learn about wine making techniques, wine styles, how to match food and wine while finding your new Spanish favourite. All classes include seven wines and small share plates. Bookings are essential as the classes are limited to 10 seats only. We love our dogs, big & small, and will always have a place for them in our alfresco area … and a bowl of (filtered) water of course. Just let us know when you want to come down and we’ll find a spot for you and your beloved pooch.

For larger bookings we may require a credit card as a guarantee with the following terms & conditions applicable:
– Any changes to guest numbers or cancellations of bookings are required no later than 48 hours prior to the booking.
– Nothing is charged prior to the booking date however in the event of late advice, that being within 48 hours of the booking, of significant changes to guest numbers and/or complete cancellation of the booking or a no show situation we then reserve the right to charge $25 per person.

Enjoy the flavours of Spain with our Chef’s Selection menu covering 6 shared plate dishes that includes dessert. This menu is required for all bookings of 10 or more at our busiest times, these being our Friday & Saturday dinner services.
Our extensive wine list has an Iberian focus but also incorporates some amazing drops that are primarily local with a selection from other parts of our great country. You’ll be spoilt for choice.

Please note for dinner bookings of 10 or more on Fridays & Saturdays, credit card details are required to secure the booking. We reserve the right to charge a cancellation fee of $25 per person in the event of cancellation or a significant reduction of guest numbers within 48 hours of the scheduled booking time.
